國民黨總統候選人朱立倫今天(7日)深入藍營鐵票區苗栗山線掃街拜票，掃街車隊繞行苗栗市區，進到頭份市時，民眾的熱情度更是爆表，幾乎家家戶戶都站在路邊向朱立倫揮手，看不出外傳藍營鐵票區有鬆動的跡象。
(車隊現場音)掃街車隊的前導車一路敲鑼打鼓，工作人員在車上拋擲競選旗幟給沿路的民眾，民眾也很捧場，紛紛接住或撿起旗幟大力揮舞，歡迎朱立倫。有近10名超商員工等候在店門口，鼓掌迎接朱立倫，還有媽媽抱著小孩、揮動小孩的手臂向朱立倫打招呼，沿途大部分的民眾都以揮手、比讚向朱立倫示意。

出了苗栗市、進入頭份市，民眾更加熱情，幾乎家家戶戶都站在路邊向朱立倫揮手，還有民眾大批聚集，車隊沿路都慢速前進，朱立倫一一揮手致意，並下車與民眾握手，炒熱當地選情。

桃竹苗地區一向是國民黨的大票倉，國民黨總統候選人朱立倫7日上午前往新竹市與新竹縣，陪同立委候選人鄭正鈐與林為洲以車隊掃街拜票；下午則趕往苗栗，陪同苗栗縣第二選區立委候選人徐志榮在苗栗市區與頭份市掃街拜票。苗栗縣第二選區又稱為苗栗山線選區，以客家族群為主，選民結構藍大於綠，可說是藍營的鐵票區。
